About the Film

The Way, My Way is a 2024 Australian drama written and directed by Bill Bennett, adapted from his bestselling memoir of the same name. The film follows the deeply personal and transformative journey of a man walking the Camino de Santiago in Spain, seeking meaning and healing one step at a time. With a gentle, introspective tone, the story captures the emotional and spiritual challenges of pilgrimage, offering a life-affirming reflection on solitude, connection, and self-discovery.

Starring Chris Haywood as Bill, alongside Jennifer Cluff, Laura Lakshmi, and Pia Thunderbolt, the film blends heartfelt performances with evocative cinematography by Calum Stewart and a moving score by Jackson Milas.

Despite modest expectations, the film became a surprise hit at the Australian box office, resonating strongly with audiences and critics alike.
