Granted
Injustice, bureaucracy, separation and the milestones of joy threaded
throughout the migrant experience.

About
Built on shared stories of immigration from the ensemble, Granted is an acknowledgment of the inherent injustice, relentless bureaucracy, heartbreaking separation, and milestones of love and joy threaded throughout the migrant experience. A patchwork of journeys that lead to a
common desire for community, connection and home.
Just over one year on from the long awaited arrival of Artistic Director, Yasim Coronado Veranes’ son Christopher in Australia from Cuba, this work calls out the forces that keep us apart and shares the magic that people create regardless.
The second full length work from NUDO, Granted features an international soundtrack and the company’s unique fusion of cultural, contemporary and urban dance styles. Granted speaks to the very heart of the group’s existence as a vessel for sharing dance, culture and friendship that
would not exist without migration.
