About

Come along as Aunty Sharron from Indigenous Insights takes us on an interactive musical song and dance journey, along with her cheeky puppet Dinawan-Emu and her other native animal friends.

This session, for children aged 2 – 6, will spark creativity and imagination by exploring cultural performance and stories. Queensland Ballet Teaching Artists will collaborate with Aunty Sharron to guide your little ones in exploring these themes and characters through movement.

At the end of the event, children will receive a special gift from Aunty Sharron to remember the stories and songs shared on the day. Parents are actively encouraged to participate and share in the joy of the experience with their children, creating special memories together.

Meet Aunty Sharron mirii Bell

Sharron mirii Bell is a proud Wiradjuri Gamilaraay woman and founded Indigenous Insights in 2005, an organisation that focuses on Early Childhood, Cultural Education and Wellbeing.

Our First Nations people have always expressed themselves through many ways, including language, song, dance, story, art and healing. All of which mirrii feels a deep connection to. Her music, art and craft is mixture of Traditional and Contemporary tones. Through her creations, she expresses her individuality and inspiration.

Sharron has an insatiable passion for sharing her continual dreaming story, in the hope that we can all walk together with respect, sharing and caring for Mother Earth, her waters, each other and all living things.
