A vivacious post-classical ballet

GLASSWORLDS is a vivacious post-classical ballet by Emrys Goldsworthy that brings to life the music of Philip Glass.

The work is a fast paced, relentless journey exploring the purity of dance in a variety of ways. The dancers are pushed to their artistic and technical limits with choreography that is fast, off-balance and virtuosic. The movement is designed to be a rapturous delight in perfect symmetry with Glass’ breathtaking music.

Notable works include Exiles, Morbus, Triptych, Pivot-Shift, Re:member, Transcendence, Equilibrium, Entropy, Torsion, Mixtape 88, Spectrum, Isolation and In Flux.

Emrys Goldsworthy trained at the Australian Conservatoire of Ballet which lead to a career with the Royal New Zealand Ballet. After retiring, he started teaching and choreographing ballet and contemporary works in the post classical and post-modern balletic style.

In 2019, he started Brisbane Ballet as a choreographic project to workshop a new piece that could be performed to the public, but the project soon became bigger than anticipated. Brisbane Ballet became a ballet company and in the first season he choreographed 3 different pieces.
