Everything beautiful has a dark side
Marking the company’s fourth creative undertaking, RB Corp. Instruction (RBCI) proudly presents its first triple bill, Shadow Works.
This daring new season will see the premiere of three contrasting works choreographed by Brisbane-based artists Riley Baldwin and Isabella Hood, all stemming from their unchained alter egos.
Extracting its intent from the darker side of science, is Toxicant by Artistic Director Riley Baldwin; a chemically-charged concoction that focuses on style over story.
Also choreographed by Riley and to be performed on our separate Junior Company comes Quill; delicate and decorative, and scribing its concept through the beauty of calligraphy.
RBCI’s 2022 Season also celebrates their first commissioned work, Eclipse, by Isabella Hood. Set to an original score by Jag Popham, and inspired by the magic that is nature and its influence on the cycles of life. Will you run and hide away? Or will you choose to confront the darkness of your own neurosis?
Unmasking what lives consciously behind our facades holds equal substance, power and purpose. Our shadows not only shape our existence, but host our confidentiality as the unidentifiable silhouettes they are. Our shadows deceive all, and this September, they finally surrender to the light.
This project is supported by the Queensland Government through Arts Queensland.
