Secret Lives of Costumes

Step inside the magical world of ballet costumes as Queensland Ballet and Queensland College of Art, Griffith University present Secret Lives of Costumes.

This visually sumptuous exhibition features costumes from Queensland Ballet’s rich and diverse repertoire ranging from the much-loved classics The Nutcracker, Cinderella, The Sleeping Beauty, and Don Quixote to recently celebrated original creations including Dangerous Liaisons and Little Green Road to Fairy Land.

The Secret Lives of Costumes exhibition provides a sneak peek into the intricate detail of costume making, with highlights of the extraordinary work from the Queensland Ballet Costume Department.

This collection gives a rare opportunity to glimpse into the world of tulle, twinkles, fairy land, pointe shoes, wigs, and glamorous accessories while telling the story of how these magnificent pieces come to life.
