Celebrate the rich cultural heritage of the Baroque era in this captivating performance exploring the theme of dance. The Brisbane Baroque Players, specialists in historically informed performance, will present a program of elegant and spirited music on authentic period instruments, including harpsichord, baroque strings and baroque wind instruments.

Adding a dynamic element, dancers from Dance Kaleidoscope will demonstrate English Country Dancing, accompanied live by the ensemble. These lively and structured dances offer insight into the social traditions of the 17th and 18th centuries, brought to life through rhythmic movement and historically styled music.

Audiences can expect to hear some well-known Baroque favourites alongside lesser-known gems, all performed with flair and attention to historical detail. The performance invites listeners to experience the joyful interplay between music and dance as it was enjoyed in Baroque courts and salons—an enriching, entertaining event for music lovers, history enthusiasts, and curious minds alike. This will be presented in Studio 3 of the Thomas Dixon Centre.

This concert is part of Brisbane City Council’s Bands in Parks program.
