Albany Creek State High School proudly presents Dance Showcase 2026, featuring Year 7 to 12 Dance students and students in the Program of Excellence Dance. Enjoy Contemporary, Lyrical, Jazz, and Musical Theatre performances, including a matinee performance of ‘Edward Scissorhands’, new choreographic works, and award-winning eisteddfod pieces. Presented across four performances at the Thomas Dixon Centre, West End.

Albany Creek State High School proudly presents Dance Showcase 2026, featuring Year 7 to 12 Dance students alongside Junior and Senior dancers from the Program of Excellence Dance. Audiences will enjoy an exciting showcase of Contemporary, Lyrical, Jazz, and Musical Theatre performances that celebrate the talent, creativity, and dedication of our young dancers. The program includes a special matinee performance of Edward Scissorhands, presented by Dance Excellence students, while evening performances will feature newly choreographed works and award-winning pieces performed at the Sydney, Brisbane, Toowoomba, and Dance X Eisteddfods. Presented across four performances at the Thomas Dixon Centre, West End, Dance Showcase 2026 highlights the achievements of students from our Excellence Programs, performance teams, and curriculum Dance classes. This spectacular event promises an inspiring display of artistry, technique, and passion. Join us in celebrating the outstanding accomplishments of Albany Creek State High School’s dancers in a performance not to be missed.

The performance is approximately 2 hour and 45 minutes, including one 20-minute interval.

Filming and photography is not permitted during the performance, but permitted during the curtain call

Albany Creek State High School’s Dance Department is a leading performing arts program dedicated to developing excellence in dance education and performance. Featuring students from Years 7 to 12 and the Program of Excellence Dance, the department provides outstanding opportunities in choreography, technical training, and stage performance. As hirers of the Talbot Theatre, the department is proud to present Dance Showcase 2026, celebrating the creativity, achievement, and artistry of its talented young performers.

Auslan Guided Tour

Take a guided Auslan tour through the revitalised Thomas Dixon Centre, led by our Deaf guide, visionary co-founder and CEO of Sign-How, Sophie Li. Rich in history, art and creativity, this 1.5 hour engagement will take you through this stunningly refurbished heritage building, the old and the new, uncovering stories from the original boot making factory days to its present incarnation as home of Queensland Ballet.
