About

Love triumphs with a sprinkling of fairy magic in this dreamy and luminous My First Ballet, Cinderella. Adapted from one of the most exquisite fairytales of all time, this story ballet will delight even the littlest of theatregoers.

Dancing with a dashing Prince and wearing a glittering gown in a candlelit ballroom – such fanciful dreams were only in Cinderella’s imagination. Until the day her life of hardship is magically transformed by her Fairy Godmother! Making a dazzling entrance to the royal ball, our fearless heroine captures the attention of all and the heart of the Prince. Yet her beautiful dream must end at midnight, and in her haste to depart, she leaves one jewelled slipper behind…

Charming, humorous, and blissfully romantic, this condensed variation of Ben Stevenson OBE’s acclaimed production, with adapted choreography by Matthew Lawrence, is the perfect fairytale entertainment for everyone. Featuring a sweeping score by Sergei Prokofiev and costumes by Tracy Grant Lord that sparkle and shimmer, Queensland Ballet first performed the full-length version in 2013, capturing hearts across Brisbane.

Tailored to families and audiences of all ages, our My First Ballet production of Cinderella will premiere at the stunning Talbot Theatre in the Thomas Dixon Centre – home of Queensland Ballet.
