Get ready to cut loose as Communication in Action presents Footloose – the much-loved musical packed with heart, humour and unforgettable songs.

When Ren McCormack moves from Chicago to the small town of Bomont, he discovers dancing has been outlawed. Refusing to accept the status quo, Ren encourages the town’s young people to stand up for what they believe in and rediscover the freedom to dance.

Featuring a cast of young performers from across Brisbane, Footloose combines energetic choreography, strong vocals and classic hits including
“Holding Out for a Hero”, “Let’s Hear It for the Boy” and the iconic title track, “Footloose”.

Directed by Tim Hill, with choreography by Justin Anderson and vocal coaching by Jacqui Devereux, this production brings together young performers from across Brisbane in a lively celebration of music, dance and storytelling.

Join us for a celebration of courage, friendship, self-expression and the joy of cutting loose.

Communication in Action is a Brisbane-based performing arts and communication school that has been helping young people find their voice since 1997. Through speech, drama, public speaking, musical theatre and performance programs, Communication in Action supports students to develop confidence, creativity and strong communication skills. Its productions bring together young performers from across Brisbane in professionally guided theatre experiences led by experienced industry practitioners.
