Bethany Cordwell’s Installation

About

Bethany Cordwell is an award-winning costume and fashion designer based in Brisbane, Australia. A Queensland University of Technology Bachelor of Design Honours (Fashion Design) graduate, she creates intricately detailed, concept driven work merging wearable art with visual storytelling. With over seven years at Queensland Ballet, Cordwell has developed a deep understanding of movement, dancer needs, and performance.

Her recent costume design credits include Queensland Ballet, Australasian Dance Collective, and independent artists. Her work has been worn by Beyoncé, Beks, Meg Washington, Adam Noviello, and Alok, and featured internationally in Vogue, Grazia, Vault, and Dazed. Cordwell is also an acclaimed World of WearableArt designer winning multiple awards across various categories.

Featured in this display includes key past garments of Bethany’s and a collaborative photoshoot with photographer David Kelly and Queensland Ballet Company Artist- Joseph Moss of her recent award winning World of WearableArt Garment Hard Exterior, Alter Ego.
